December’s $1K Impact Giveaway was awarded to a wonderful individual who has dedicated her life to serving in the educational and spiritual growth of the children who attend the Springfield, VA, school that she is the Administrator for. Bonnie has always gone above and beyond to serve this community but was, unfortunately, involved in an accident in March of 2018 that has kept her from fulfilling her duties. While gardening one afternoon, she was gathering supplies from the shed when a large tractor attachment came loose and fell on her, causing traumatic brain injuries. After surgeries and 3 months of therapy, she was finally able to go back to work part-time but endured painful headaches that would occur during the long commute from Warrenton, VA.

This accident also prevented her and her husband, Randy, from celebrating their Anniversary at Yellowstone National Park. They have since postponed the trip to this summer, and their nominator wanted our $1,000 Giveaway to help them be able to afford their much-deserved vacation. Bonnie’s compassion for her family and the children of the school she serves along with the hardships she has had to endure, made her the obvious winner of December’s $1K Impact Giveaway. She is truly an extraordinary person whose selflessness and perseverance deserves recognition and celebration.
